A retelling of the beauty and the beast barely hits the mark. Throughout my time reading this, I felt like it was lacking something. There was something missing, maybe additional world building or improved plot. The relationship between the two main characters felt almost too insta-lovely even though the story seemed to lean towards enemies to lovers with forced proximity. It really didn’t get good until the very end but was still mostly enjoyable.
