A Heart of Blood and Ashes (A Gathering of Dragons, #1)

The world this story was set in was super cool and reminded me a lot of Game of Thrones, which I love. All the different animals and customs were really unique. The romance was definitely a slow burn with the relationship not really kicking off till around 80%. I liked Yvenne’s character a lot and really think her and Maddek complement each other well. I also really liked the “found family” aspect and liked that they were able to bring some humor to the story. Only giving this three starts because I felt like each of the climatic points in the story were kind of underwhelming for how important they were made out to be. But, all in all it was worthwhile to read.
