A Ladder to the Sky

This is a very interesting book. The first chapter I think is one of the best short stories I have ever read if it had been a stand alone rather than a lead-in to a book. The rest of the book is also interesting. It's kind of like listening to a a piece of music and just waiting beat to drop. If you give it a try, you do have to make it until the end. That's where it all comes together. We read it as part of a book club and while I quite liked it, it did generate some very split opinions. I would suggest reading it as part of a book club or with another person though, because you are going to want someone to discuss it with/vent to after reading it.
