A man called Ove tries to commit suicide after he loses his wife. The problem is he keeps being accidentally interrupted by his meddling neighbors. They all need help with something- fixing the radiator, backing the car out of the driveway, taking someone to the hospital, teaching them how to fix a bike and drive. Ove can’t just leave them- he has to help them out. Who else is going to? The end was cute and wholesome. Just as advertised- “a found family”. I enjoyed the way that everything revealed itself throughout to be connected. I did not enjoy the cynical tone of the narrator or the way the book was written in general. I didn’t think it was that funny. The book was good and cute but it wasn’t something I was obsessed with and will talk about forever. I did shed one single tear at the ending though.
