3.5 stars. I think a long time ago this would have made me quite excited — but politics now just feels hopeless. To their credit, this is a solid liberal reckoning with the failures of the dems to date, and a positive vision for the future that is quite exciting. I just struggle to see a path to this becoming reality. If only these two were running for office ... TLDR: The politics of scarcity have divided us and convinced us government is incompetent at best, but throughout history entrepreneurial govenrment leaders have accomplished great things — from the MRNA vaccine, to DOE loan to Tesla, to Space race, and GPS and internet. These acocmplishements required a fundamentally different approach to governance, a more expeditious and innovative midnset, as opposed to the NIMBY style consensus based approach we have today (if anyone dissents we can stop things). Don't love that it was tailored just to democracts, think abundance is a rare agenda that the whole country can get behind and shares an emphasis on tech and dynamism that reps love at the moment. Worth reading if you want political hope for liberals.
