I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. I thought it was going to be another tacky, romantic love story. Instead, it was a book version of Craigslist’s missed connections. It starts off *literally* as a missed connection. In the present, Matt catches a glimpse of his former college girlfriend on the subway platform, but her train leaves just as they recognize each other. His work friend convinces him to write a post on Craigslist to try and find her. It then jumps to the past, retelling the cheesy love story of two kids in New York, and how they got to where they are, as complete strangers in the same city. The writing style & dialogue was a bit corny throughout, but the characters were lovable. Also,THAT TWIST!!! I didn’t see it coming & was completely in shock at the reveal!! For that alone, you should read this book!!! Sad, sweet & romantic. (PS there’s spice.)
