Everything She Does Is Magic (Fableview, #1)

Bridget Morrissey does it once again, making my heart melt to pieces with a sapphic romance. This was such a heartwarming read to kick off the autumn season (a little early but who’s counting). It felt like halloweentown and gilmore girls written for the sapphics! Darcy and Anya both face similar issues of family expectations and together they learn how to face them in different ways. relatable for young adult readers as well as adults reflecting on their teen selves. spoilers ahead: one of my favorite parts was that their coming out was met with love and understanding. there wasn’t this huge suspenseful build up that left the character conflicted and soul crushed, having to convince the people around them that they were worthy of love. their families and friends just accepted them. and while that isn’t everyone’s experience with coming out, it was very similar to my own coming out with the people that mattered most to me. nothing but love and acceptance and i hope that this helps any young queer person accept themselves and have the strength to come out when the time is right for them! as well as show allies how easy it is to be a good ally to your friends and family! thank you netgalley and Penguin Random House for the arc!
