This book frustrated me! I didn’t quite enjoy the writing style, I feel like it was very tell and not show but was not expecting the ending (just wish the explanation happened a little bit earlier.) However I did keep reading because I really wanted to know what was going on, but the ending was definitely a little unbelievable.
did my mom spoil the ending of this boook for me by yelling at the tv while watching the show??? why yes, she did. is that maybe why i went into this book not enjoying it as much? perhaps. knowing who the killer was the entire time was quite frustrating, but i still found the minor twists to be really predictable. i literally predicted the second major twist, which was so disappointing because after that there was nothing about this book that left me shocked. i love alice feeney and hate to rate this low, but it didn’t do it for me. maybe i’m just growing out of thrillers as a genre? the book is told from three pov- his, hers, and theirs. a wife, a husband and a killer are telling the same story about the deaths of a group of serial killings each from their own perspectives. i thought it was kind of bland- everyone is an alcoholic, everyone is cheating on everyone else and there’s so many metaphors. i’m so sorry alice feeney i love you so much and you’re so sweet and kind but this one just wasn’t my cup of tea :(
