3.5/5 ⭐️ this book was a whirlwind! thanks to the publisher, Harper Via, for breaking me out of my comfort zone and getting me to read about a topic that i usually don’t dabble in (anything k-pop). also fun fact: this was originally published in south korea in 2021! four obsessed women kidnap a k-pop idol who lost his memory and hold him hostage in a desolate mansion in the middle of the woods. they wash him, feed him and keep him locked away in a room pretending to be the women who saved him. little does he know their true intentions. this book starts off so good- the story is addictive and fresh and weird. it slows down towards the middle- you start learning the backstories of all the women, how they met, how they’re connected. the end was crazy, and the pace picked up again here. the twists just kept coming and you can see just how depraved these women really are. i really loved the ending and thought it was soooo wild and unique. “everyone needed a star in their hearts, an unreachable flower on the cliff to watch for the rest of their lives”
