Not the best from author Ruth Ware, who I usually prefer to read. There was lack of character development, mostly just shallow & superficial supporting roles. There was this “big mystery” mentioned throughout, involving main character & her ex boyfriend. The suspense leading up the mystery was flat and annoying. Ware should have just mentioned what it was / had happened in the beginning & gotten it over with, as I feel like it was important to understand the plot of the story with that key bit of information. The “twist” lacked thrill & overall this became a book to just pass the time. I could have shelved it, as that’s how uninteresting the plot was, but I had nothing else to read. Disappointed as I usually LOVE anything by Ruth Ware and am always kept on the edge of my seat.
