4.5 ⭐️ Wow, what a beautifully written piece. The trauma was written so well into the story. The characters felt multi-layered and reacted to all the trauma with maturity. I agreed with the choices they made, especially with Emma. I think she ultimately did the right thing, not only for her but for Justin and his siblings. Also, Justin, what a man!!

As a child who also had a difficult mother-daughter relationship, this book made me feel seen. Not only that but it gave me a new perspective on how I viewed things. I laughed throughout the entire book and cried some too. I absolutely loved it. I will be getting all other Abby Jimenez books immediately.
