Powerful (The Powerless Trilogy, #1.5)

Okay listen….did I love seeing Adena get the love and attention she deserves? Yes. Did I absolutely bawl my eyes out when I read her death scene from her POV rather than Paeden’s? Also yes. Did I about throw my book after reading the agony that Mak felt FEELING ADENA DIE?! Again, yes. HOWEVER. I have a few pet peeves with this book. One, it could have been longer. I know we only had Adena for a short period of time in our eyes because of the first book, but this definitely could have been included in the first book. I know that Adena wasn’t the main character of the book but she was just such a big part of Paeden’s life that such a small book feels so negative. It was just so short. Two, I would have loved to get more about Adena with mama. She talks about her mom so much and I would have loved to get more other than “mama died”. Three and possible most important, why on god’s green earth is this book smaller than Powerless??? I’m not talking number of pages I mean PHYSICALLY SMALLER? I’m honestly so annoyed that it’s two inches less smaller width and height wise than Powerless. I know it is such a first world problem but come on why don’t they line up…
