4.25 ⭐️ I have some thoughts. This was SUCH a good book! It kept me hooked the entire time. Rocky of course was the BEST. His acquisition of the English language and sarcasm was hilarious. Had me giggling at his little comments. Ryland went back to save Rocky even though he knew he was going to die. He did what many people probably wouldn’t have done, accepting probable death in order to save his friend. There were times when I was tiredddd of hearing all the problems that Ryland was encountering near the end of his journey. I was like GIVE THIS MAN A BREAK. but all in all, absolutely loved this book.

what can i say about this book that hasn’t been said by someone else already? this was nothing that i expected it to be. i saw the reviews, i saw the excitement, i just didn’t understand it. i expected some typical ‘man goes to space on a mission to save earth’ book, but what i got instead was a story on humanity, on friendship, on doing the right thing and being a good person, even if it means sacrificing your comfort. the friendship between grace and rocky was so wholesome and heartwarming to read, the delivery of grace’s internal monologue and overall tone was hysterical (i chuckled a lot), the flashback scenes were important in providing context as to how we got here. i’m not a girl who typically enjoys anything science related and i ate this entire book up. it’s written so even the biggest science-haters can understand what’s going on, despite not understanding the science part and it’s terminology. i can’t wait to watch the movie. i also have to mention that i absolutely loved the ending so much, it made me so so happy. said a million times already but “amaze amaze amaze” ⭐️

I loved the premise and thought it was interesting, but unfortunately it was so science and I didn’t quite have the patience for that and it felt like weir just trying to show off his physics and science knowledge like so nerdy. love rocky tho
