This was…fine. I have several problems with it. Number one, I struggled to listen to this because of the narrator. It’s not their fault, I just was not a fan of their voice and how they chose to narrate it. Number two, the whole “bought at auction you’re my slave now” thing is…icky. Yes nothing really happens but like still, it’s weird. Number three, it felt incredibly predictable. There were things that I could see coming from a mile away. I also felt like it was too slow. It felt way more advertised as a slow burn romance, but like it took til the LAST THREE CHAPTERS for something to actually happen. Number four, the MMC is insufferable. He’s not romantic, he’s not dark and mysterious, he is just so infuriating and not in the fun kind of way. He reveals nothing, and he doesn’t give us anything until the last handful of chapters. Lastly and most importantly, where in the actual hell is the “dramionie” connection? I feel like it’s wildly unfair to be marketed as a HP fanfic when it has absolutely morning to do with it, and quite frankly it should not be marketed that way to promote a bigoted transphobe like JKR. this could have stood alone on its own, it did not need the HP connection whatsoever. I think it had a lot of potential but just really fell flat for me. I probably won’t continue to read on if I’m being honest.
