The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom, #1)

i really enjoyed the writing in this book. the world building was rich and immersive without feeling overwhelming. the plot moved at a great pace, fast enough to stay engaging but not so quick that i felt lost at any point. i was curious about what would happen next the entire book. i went back and forth between a 3 and 4 star rating, but ultimately landed on 3. for me, there was just a tad too much political intrigue, and i found myself wishing for a bit more focus on the romance/character development. i do like the growth lara went through! that said, the story itself was strong, and the characters were compelling enough to keep me invested. i definitely plan to continue the series, though i think i will switch to the audiobooks for the rest!
