Would give a 2.5 if I could, not because I don’t think she’s right, but just because it’s not exactly a fun read, and maybe not so relevant to my generally goal oriented cohort. Basic takeaway is that you can’t pretend the future doesn’t exist in your 20s - you have to set goals and make plans, about work and relationships. Offered a nice balance to my intuition and other reads like “why greatness cannot be planned”. The most compelling and actionable advice from it, that you don’t need to read it for, is actually do the math of your future timeline, especially around kids. Didn’t realize men also have a biological clock to some degree, and even otherwise while vagabonding can be fun, being concrete about by what year of your life you want a certain amount of stability felt like a necessary if not a tad annoying nudge. 30’s and 40’s are real and you’ll thank your 20’s y/o self for laying a strong foundation. She’s basically the stern (research backed) parents a lot of gen z didn’t have but needed. If you have those parents telling you to get your life together, you probably don’t need to read the book…
