⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: The Ghostwriter by Julie Clark Synopsis: Olivia Dumont, the estranged daughter of famous horror writer Vincent Taylor, who is hired to ghostwrite her father's memoir. The memoir is meant to reveal the truth about a 1975 tragedy where Vincent's siblings were murdered, a crime for which he was long suspected. As Olivia delves into the story, she uncovers a complex web of lies and secrets, leading to a shocking conclusion. I really loved the plot and thought the story was unique, not your typical thriller. While the pacing felt a little slow at times, the payoff was worth it. Julie Clark’s writing style is clean, engaging, and easy to follow, which made it an enjoyable read. I’d personally call this more of a suspense novel than a full-on thriller. What stood out most to me were the real-life issues woven into the story (family abandonment, an alcoholic and absentee father, + more). those layers added so much depth to the characters. I found myself connecting to the main character on a deeper level and even feeling empathy for her father despite his flaws. A heartfelt, character-driven suspense that delivers both emotion and tension!
