This book was a quick page-turning beach read. I breezed through about 50% eagerly. The main characters / couple were a little problematic, letting their friend stay in their house for over a month, as she was getting over a breakup / divorce from her husband. Also the friend never asked them if it was ok?? She just is in the house eating their food, wearing their clothes, and sleeping in their bed while they were on vacation and never asked them if it was ok!?! The friend clearly was overstaying her welcome & it made the couple extremely uncomfortable, but no one stopped her? Or spoke up to her?? At a certain point, it would make sense to say “when are you getting a hotel room?” Or “we need some alone time and although I do understand what you’re going through, can you please go stay by your parents for a few weeks”. Also they throw in the weird & extremely over-friendly neighbor who is pregnant, and just weird. Also doesn’t understand personal space or boundaries. Main character husband is self-deprecating and lies about the dumbest thing (for no reason) which gets between him and his wife. However, the book was well written and kept me interested. There were some points at the end where the dialogue was repetitive and I desperately wanted to skim past it, but didn’t in case I missed anything important. The twist at the end was good and unsuspecting. Made a lot of sense.
