The House Across the Lake

I’m sorry this book was so bad. It started off so similar to “The Woman in the Window” by AJ Finn (nosy,alcoholic neighbor watches other neighbor through window with binoculars, sees things she shouldn’t!!) Casey is an unreliable, alcoholic narrator/ child actor/ nepo-baby who befriends the supermodel Katherine Royce (married to tech start up CEO, Tom Royce) who moves in across the lake. She meets Katherine when she saves her from drowning in the lake (yikes) and they become friendly over the next few days before she goes missing. Oh and Casey’s husband also drowned on the lake a year ago and died. The twists are just so bad; I really did not like the first one at all and I predicted the second major one about halfway through. The last twist is pretty good but by that point I had given up on this book and was ready to DNF. I love Riley Sager but baby this was not it…
