3.5/5 ⭐️ Molly is a Maid. A very plain and simple woman who believes in being kind, following the rules, and doing the right thing. It’s what her grandmother taught her before she passed away. She lives a sheltered life, cleaning hotel rooms, returning to her empty apartment at the end of each day. She doesn’t have any friends, and her vocabulary is full of outdated phrases and sayings. She’s a little irritating to be honest, but she means well. While doing her mundane, daily tasks of stripping bedsheets and dusting nightstands, Molly stumbles upon the dead body of a wealthy businessman, Mr.Black, sprawled out on a bed. Being as naive as she is, Molly ends up pinned for the murder by detectives and her fellow colleagues. She must fight to protect her innocence, despite having no money and no true friends. It’s no help that she really doesn’t have the best judge of character either. The twist at the end of how Molly’s grandmother really died was actually quite surprising, as was the revelation of Mr.Black’s true killer. I breezed through this book within a day, it was hard to put down. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a light thriller read with a surprising twist.
