The Orphan Master's Son

A wonderful story of a man who lives in North Korea. First impression, 5 pages in, was that I was reading a story terrifyingly similar to 1984. Well written, Adam Johnson does a great job of not trying to tell you how different North Korea is from other countries, it simply shows you what's normal for him. You can draw your own conclusions and comparisons from there. I also greatly appreciated that in the rougher sections of his life, Adam Johnson doesn't get too graphic. He tells you what happens as simply as he can and I found it helped me get through those harder spots when bad things were happening. Overall a great book!
