The Vessel

WOW I was so immersed in this dark, atmospheric, folk horror story. This felt very cinematic and like I could see it playing out on a screen, which if you read through Nevill's author notes in the end, you'll find is very intentional! For movie comparisons this gave me similar vibes to Midsommar (2019) and Weapons (2025). This is one of those novellas that was executed perfectly within a limited amount of pages and I only want more because it was that good.
