Unfamiliar, Vol. 1 (Unfamiliar, #1)

This was the perfect first read for me for September! Unfamiliar is a graphic novel about Planchette, a lonely kitchen witch and her familiar, Winston, who move into a new home only to discover that it’s haunted. To try and rid her house of these spirits, which is more than her magic can handle, she befriends a cursed girl, an introverted siren, and the worst witch in town. This felt very much like a found family, coming of age story. I loved all of the names for everything in the story like Hex-Mart and Witchypedia. The illustrations are adorable and reading this felt like the perfect dive into spooky season. Looking forward to checking out Vol. 2!
