SagaPrivacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
Saga is a reading tracker and social app. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email, display name, username, and optional bio and profile photo.
- Your reading: reading sessions (book, time read, notes, saved words, quotes, photos you add, and whether you finished a book) and your weekly goal.
- Social activity: who you follow, your likes, and your comments. This activity is visible to other users.
- Contacts (only if you allow it): we read your device contacts to find friends already on Saga. We match them on your device and do not store your contacts on our servers or message anyone on your behalf.
- Photos (only if you add them): photos you attach to a session or your profile are uploaded to our storage.
- Notifications (only if you allow them): a device push token, used solely to tell you when someone you follow finishes a book.
- Basic usage and diagnostics to keep the app working.
How we use it
To run Saga — show your reading, your feed, your friends, your dictionary and stats, and send the one notification you opt into. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Supabase — our backend and storage provider, hosts your data.
- Apple Push Notification service — delivers notifications.
- Open Library and the Free Dictionary API — power book and word lookups; we send only the search text, not your identity.
We do not sell personal data.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, set or remove your weekly goal, and turn the notification off anytime in Settings.
- Delete your account in Settings — this permanently removes your account and reading history.
Data retention
We keep your data until you delete your account.
Children
Saga is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
